Hydrogen Pressure Vessels
Details
Explore our Hydrogen Pressure Vessels page, where innovation meets safety in lightweight hydrogen storage and transport. Our Type III and Type IV Composite Overwrapped Pressure Vessels (COPVs) redefine hydrogen storage standards. Engineered for excellence, our vessels feature patented port openings, custom carbon fiber composites, various sizes and pressures, and exceptional durability. With decades of manufacturing expertise, we ensure the highest quality and environmental responsibility. Discover a new era in hydrogen storage and transport with Steelhead Composites.
We set the standard for safe and effective storage, transport, and distribution of hydrogen. Our durable pressure vessels offer either seamless aluminum (Type III) or polymeric (Type IV) construction and are completely overwrapped with epoxy-impregnated carbon fiber composite.
These vessels feature:
- Patented "Steelhead" expanded port openings with hydrogen-ready, stainless steel, or aluminum threaded connections large enough to accommodate an in-tank valve and regulator.
- Custom, high-performance carbon fiber composites for minimum weight and extended lifespan.
- Size availability ranging from 6L to 270L.
- Wide operating temperature range: from -40°C to 85°C (-40°F to 185°F).
- Standard pressure of 350 Bar (~5,000 PSI)
- Custom sizes/pressures available upon request.
- Predictable leak-before-burst failure characteristics.
- Fast-fill capabilities.
- Proven durability against drop and impact damage.
- Minimal hydrogen permeation at its maximum operating pressure.
Steelhead Composites design and manufacturing offers:
