Pressure Vessel Recertification Services
Steelhead Composites is proud to offer comprehensive pressure vessel recertification services, providing industries with a trusted solution for maintaining the safety and efficiency of critical components.
Under Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, all certified pressure vessels must undergo regular inspection and recertification to meet stringent safety and performance standards. These requirements, outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR), ensure that pressure vessels continue to operate safely. While some pressure vessels have a specified service life—often 15 years—others are designed for indefinite use, but all require periodic testing, typically every five years.
Certified Recertification Services
Steelhead Composites is certified by the DOT’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) to operate as a requalification facility. Our Recertification Identification Number (RIN) is N599, enabling our trained professionals to perform both visual inspections and hydrostatic testing to recertify pressure vessels for ongoing use.
Pressure Vessel Types We Requalify
We offer requalification services for a broad range of pressure vessels, including:
Seamless steel and aluminum alloy cylinders certified under ICC-3 standards
UN ISO 9809-1 and -3 vessels
ISO 11119 Type II, III, and IV pressure vessels
